Olivia and Dan’s Wedding | 6.6.26 | Oldcastles Farm, Duns
We’re back where it all began – inside beautiful tipis!
Many years ago, we embarked on our catering journey at the picturesque Hartree Estates in Biggar, working within the rustic setting of tipis.
For our 2026 season, we faced that same wonderful tipi challenge once again, setting up a temporary field kitchen on the grass at the family farm and successfully catering for a tipi full of hungry farmers.
Three years ago, I met Olivia at the same location while catering for the wedding of Dan’s sister, Abbe, and James.
At the time, Olivia had specific dietary requirements and remembered the effort we made to ensure she enjoyed the same experience as every other guest.
Three years later, we returned to Oldcastles Farm for Olivia and Dan’s own wedding day, creating a bespoke menu that catered for gluten-free guests and a variety of other dietary requirements. We also incorporated Polish cuisine to reflect Olivia’s family heritage.
Olivia’s mum attended their tasting to make sure we could deliver on our promise. 😂
Fast forward to the wedding day, and she was delighted, telling us that we had “ACED IT!”
Dan was keen to showcase his favourite steak pie, while Olivia wanted a Polish influence to reflect her family and childhood memories.
With Scottish and Polish touches woven throughout their personalised menu, we thoroughly enjoyed being back at Oldcastles Farm and helping bring Olivia and Dan’s vision to life.
It was a beautiful day, and at Fennel & Clove Catering, we feel incredibly lucky to have been part of it. 🩷🩷

Some weddings are worth the wait.

When Grace & Hugh celebrated their wedding at the family’s beautiful Drumcarro Farm in St Andrews, guests were welcomed into a stunning marquee setting overlooking the Fife countryside.

Canapés included homemade pork & thyme sausage rolls with tomato chutney, haggis bon bons with triple mustard mayo and chunky asparagus tempura with sweet chilli sauce before family and friends gathered to celebrate the newlyweds.

A wonderful day, a fantastic setting and a privilege to be part of it.

A wedding menu designed for sharing.

To start, guests enjoyed supplied Newhaven smoked cross-cut salmon served with horseradish crème fraîche, pickled cucumber, dill and pea shoots, alongside Forsyths of Peebles brown bread and Edinburgh cultured butter.

For the main course, sharing platters of garlic & thyme chicken on the bone and pink strip loin beef were served with homemade chimichurri, chipotle ketchup, hand-cut rosemary chips, heritage tomato salad, orzo pasta with asparagus tips and fresh leaves.

Vegetarian guests enjoyed harissa cauliflower with pomegranate and tahini.

Simple ingredients, carefully prepared and designed to bring everyone together around the table.
